SQ 744 would hurt jobs, affect state's competitiveness (OPINION)

Let there be no question: State Question 744, should it pass, is an Oklahoma job-killer, plain and simple.

Passage of SQ 744 will mean our roads will be in even worse condition, our streets will be less safe, our family farms will be threatened and early, higher and CareerTech education will all suffer, all with no guarantee our students will have better access to a quality education than when we started.

Supporters of the question have tried to paint its opponents as anti-education. Businesses in Oklahoma, and those looking to possibly relocate to Oklahoma, need an educated work force. There is no question that building an educated work force is one of our top priorities at The State Chamber. We can help create jobs all day long, but if there isn't someone who can adequately fill that job, we have failed... FULL ARTICLE
