EDMOND — The Oklahoma Department of Transportation has awarded a bid for the Covell and Kelly widening to Duit Construction, City Manager Larry Stevens said this week before the City Council.
The city’s share will be 20 percent, or $3.2 million, for the $16.1 million combined project, Stevens said. Earlier this year, the city budgeted a $10 million cost for the Covell Road widening alone, said Steve Manek, city engineer. ODOT tied the two projects together making the combined cost $16.1 million, Manek said.
Construction on Covell will run from Marilyn Williams Drive at Mitch Park to Thomas Drive. The Kelly piece is from Danforth to Covell. The state decided to create a joint bid for expediency and the common vicinity of both projects... FULL ARTICLE
