Additional money appropriated by legislators the past five years for Oklahoma’s roads and bridges is beginning to show results, a national transportation organization reported Monday.
But the findings by the Washington, D.C.-based The Road Information Program, states significant deficiencies remain with the state’s roads and bridges.
Recent gains in the state’s highway system could be lost without continued support for transportation maintenance, improvement and expansion, said Frank Moretti, director of policy and research for the organization. He released the findings on Oklahoma’s roads and bridges during a state Capitol news conference. The nonprofit group is made up of small businesses, engineering firms, contractors, chambers of commerce, cities, counties and people.
