Restoration work has begun on the $4 million restoration of a 1920s-era steel truss bridge near Lake Overholser that was part of the original Route 66.
Improvements to the bridge on Overholser Drive, which serves the lake and residential areas, were approved by Oklahoma City voters in a bond election in 2000, said Dennis Clowers, public works director and an engineer for Oklahoma City.
