State Highway 74 north of Oklahoma City is a much nicer road to travel, thanks to improvements of recent years.
It is subjected to heavy traffic, morning and night, as commuters and other travelers in all types of vehicles go north and south, to and from the metro area.
I remember years ago it often seemed the line of vehicles was miles long and it wasn't always easy to pass anyone because of the traffic volume on the other side of the road.
When the one-mile stretch from NW 234 Street to Waterloo Road (the Oklahoma/Logan County line) was redone as a four-lane, it changed the entire complexion of the trip. It's more attractive, smoother and safer... FULL ARTICLE
