A $7.5 million bridge project underway

BRAGGS — A $7.5 million project to widen Oklahoma 10 and replace the bridge located on the north side of Greenleaf State Park is expected to take approximately one year to complete.

The project began Feb. 20, said Jamie Malmstrom, assistant division engineer for construction in the Oklahoma Department of Transportation's Muskogee office. It will continue for year and one-half from the starting date, he said.

Workers are working off a barge in building a trench that is going to be 25 feet deep and extend out into Lake Greenleaf. After that, special rollers will be used to crush and smooth out rock that will be put in the trench for the roadway. Cement will then be poured for the road... FULL ARTICLE
