McALESTER — A supporter of passing State Question 744 accused those who gathered in front of Oklahoma State Penitentiary last week to speak against the measure of trying to “scare” voters into casting ballots against it.
“Those are shameful scare tactics,” said Walton Robinson, communications director for the “Yes On 747 Coalition.
“What they are trying to do is scare the voters,” he said.
Robinson spoke after Tracy Davis, the unit manager for Oklahoma State Penitentiary, which includes death row, talked about the impact he feared passage of SQ 744 would have on OSP, as well as other prisons across the state.
