State Rep. Randy Terrill said Thursday he is innocent of offering a bribe, and he accused his prosecutor of filing the charge to hurt him politically.
Terrill is a Republican. Oklahoma County District Attorney David Prater is a Democrat.
Prater responded, “My job has nothing to do with politics.”
Terrill, 41, of Moore, was charged Wednesday in Oklahoma County District Court. He is accused in a felony count of offering Debbe Leftwich a bribe — an $80,000-a-year state job — to withdraw from running for re-election to the state Senate.
Also charged was Leftwich, 59, a Democrat. She is accused in a separate felony count of soliciting and/or accepting the bribe. The former senator from south Oklahoma City also has denied wrongdoing... FULL ARTICLE
