State Transportation Commission gives update on new welcome signs

Oklahoma City (KOKH) — The installation of new state welcome signs was discussed Monday by the Oklahoma Transportation Commission.

Secretary of Transportation and Department of Transportation Executive Director, Tim Gatz, said 85 new signs will be installed along the border of the state, 10 large signs have already been put in place.

These signs were manufactured and installed at a cost of $150,000. ODOT said it came out of their budget, which is taxpayer dollars, but no additional money was spent because they had plans to replace the old signs.

"Once we heard about this branding process, we decided to wait a little bit longer so we wouldn't have to redo these. So, the signs were going to be replaced, maybe not all at the same time, but plans were to replace them," said ODOT spokesperson Terri Angier... FULL ARTICLE
