Even though the state’s sluggish economy makes a recently adopted $4.3 billion road and bridge plan unpredictable, it’s good to have a more comprehensive strategy.
Oklahoma Transportation Commission adopted the eight-year plan to replace hundreds of bridges and highways across the state throughout the next eight years. It includes more than 1,750 transportation projects statewide, and if put into action really will put a dent into the terrible problem of deficient bridges in the state.
The transportation department always is looking ahead, according to its director Gary Ridley, who spoke in Enid about a month ago. So, this kind of planning is nothing new... FULL ARTICLE
