Motorists who travel State Highway 33 west from Perkins are well aware of progress on the project to create a four-lane byway, but the Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) has several other projects underway for the area.
“There’s a lot of work going on around Perkins,” Paul Green, ODOT Division IV engineer said.
Green said the earthwork on the SH 33 widening project started last October.
Duit Construction was awarded the $9.8 million concrete surfacing project during the Oklahoma Transportation Commission meeting held April 4.
Green said the project will begin at the fourlane approximately one mile east of the Cimarron River bridge near Coyle, Okla. and extend east seven miles.
“The earthwork is wrapping up quickly,” Green said. “They are sodding as they go, so it should be finished up soon.” FULL ARTICLE
