State Sens. Mike Mazzei and Gary Stanislawski have a workable idea that will save the state money and continue an important service to taxpayers.
Every year Oklahomans have to renew their license plates, but a lot of folks forget when the bill is due.
To deal with that, the Oklahoma Tax Commission has been in the habit of mailing out reminders.
But these are hard economic times, and state government agencies are being forced to cut back every way possible.
To save on postage, the tax commission wanted to 86 the reminders.
Inevitably, that would have led to more people (forgetful people who have no intent of dodging their taxes) failing to renew their tags on time...
