Local drivers who use Interstate 44 in Tulsa will soon notice additional construction, according to the Oklahoma Department of Transportation.
A $40 million widening project in the I-44 corridor between Riverside Drive to just east of Peoria Avenue is scheduled to start Tuesday, ODOT said in a news release.
This is the third of four construction phases for the $360 million I-44 Riverside Drive to Yale Avenue project. Work in this phase includes:
- Widen I-44 from four to six lanes
- Replace structurally deficient bridge at Peoria Avenue
- Improve entrance and exit ramps at Peoria Avenue
