Pauls Valley, Oklahoma — A gathering of all the players this week put the finishing touches on a six-figure grant request that if eventually funded would help a Garvin County rural district with a water line project.
Garvin County Rural Water District No. 6 in the eastern part of the county got the official OK to submit the needed paperwork for a Community Development Block Grant request, better known by some as CDBG.
In this case the request is for a $150,000 grant to help the rural district take down a water line attached to a bridge and replace it with a new larger one buried at least 20 feet underneath the riverbed.
According to Tom Whitaker of the rural water district, the long-term benefits is what this project is all about.
