“If you build it, they will come,” is the line everyone remembers from the hit movie “Field of Dreams.”
The same line came to mind when plans were announced for construction of an outlet mall on the west side of Oklahoma City.
That's exactly what happened.
When the mall opened the weekend of Aug. 5-7, the shoppers — and lookers — came in droves. That translated to lots of dollars in the cash registers and a few traffic issues for motorists.
Am wondering if you know of any pending off-ramp improvements to the Interstate 40/Council Road (westbound) exit?
The new outlet mall opened ... and has radically increased the time it takes to get through this area. Vehicles intending to exit ... were backed up (not moving) on the shoulder of I-40 for nearly a mile.
I am a homeowner that USED to take this exit. I was mistakenly under the impression that ... the state, city or developer were to improve the I-40/Council off-ramp exit to accommodate this obvious increase of traffic.
