As students return from winter break, parents should be aware of a traffic change by Cedar Heights Elementary School.

According to a post made on Cedar Heights Elementary’s Facebook page Monday morning, between the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., traffic on 22nd street coming from the North may not turn left into the drop-off lane or the bus lane. Traffic must come from the South to turn right into those areas. Traffic from Cedar Street may not turn left onto 22nd street during the posted times.

“These traffic control signs were placed there to keep the traffic moving,” said Chief of Police Curt Terry. “If anyone has tried to drive by Cedar Heights when school lets out, the traffic is essentially at a standstill. These signs are not only to keep traffic moving, it is in an effort to allow emergency vehicles safe passage should there ever be the need. With traffic stopped in both directions at the school someone may not get prompt service by our emergency services.” FULL ARTICLE
