After days of repairs, an aging interstate highway bridge east of Tulsa is now passable in both directions.
One lane of both the eastbound and westbound stretches of Interstate 44 near 161st East Avenue has opened, according to the Oklahoma Department of Transportation.
The entire bridge had been closed for part of the week as crews made emergency repairs. Concrete fell from the bridge Friday and Saturday, damaging several vehicles.
Cold weather affected the concrete that was used to patch the holes, keeping it from curing properly, ODOT reported. In the meantime, traffic was routed onto nearby access ramps...
