TRUST Commends Senator Jim Inhofe

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK, December 1, 2015 – The president of Transportation Revenues Used Strictly For Transportation (TRUST) issued the following statement this afternoon with regards to an agreement announced today by U.S. Senate and House leaders to send the Fixing America’s Surface Transportation (FAST) Act to a vote in both chambers this week. The bill is the first long-term highway transportation funding measure to be considered since 2005.

Neal McCaleb said, “The announcement today from Senate and House leaders of a five-year, $305 billion dollar bill, with $205 billion going to highway infrastructure, simply would not have happened without the leadership of Oklahoma U.S. Senator Jim Inhofe. Senator Inhofe, as chairman of the Senate Environment & Public Works Committee, worked tirelessly on a bill that can pass both congressional chambers and be signed by the President. In fact, the last time a long-term bill was passed in 2005, Senator Inhofe was also EP&W Committee chairman. The members of TRUST commend Senator Inhofe for his valiant efforts in addressing America’s crumbling highway infrastructure.”
