The expressway may become a toll road on part of the proposed sections.

Less than a month ago, Gov. Brad Henry signed into law legislation authorizing the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority to study the feasibility of making some or all of the unfinished portions of the Gilcrease Expressway into a toll road.
Now comes the hard part — getting it done.
Tim Stewart, the Turnpike Authority's deputy director, said the first thing that has to be determined is what sections of the unfinished roadway should be included in the study.
"We have to understand what they (the city of Tulsa) have done so far," Stewart said. "We don't want to repeat efforts and spend money where it's not needed."
