Road projects throughout the Tulsa metropolitan area will guarantee many roadways throughout the area will be under construction during the next eight years, according the Oklahoma Department of Transportation’s 8-year plan, released recently.

According to Jared Cottle, city engineer and asst. city manager, Bixby, the highway bridge projects which will most affect Bixby are Group 4 – U.S. 64 — Right of way and utilities over Snake Creek — $327,000, and Group 8 – U.S. 64 — Right of way and utilities for U.S. 64 from East 161st Street South to Mingo Road — $3 million.

“This first appears to be some bridge work at Snake Creek on Hwy 64 (171st Street, outside of the City limits near Leonard,” said Cottle. “The second project is for the future widening of Hwy 64 from the light at 161st and Memorial around the curve to Mingo Road.” FULL ARTICLE
