OKLAHOMA CITY - The Oklahoma Turnpike Authority moved forward Thursday with closing travel plazas on the opposite ends of the Indian Nation Turnpike and opening a new one.
The plazas at the Eufaula exit at Oklahoma 9 and at Antlers will be closed. A new travel plaza will be built near McAlester.
The OTA adopted a resolution to negotiate for 40 acres for the new plaza and proceed with condemnation if an agreement can't be reached on a price for the land, said Tim Stewart, OTA deputy director.
The land is owned by two different people, he said.
