OKLAHOMA CITY-- Oklahoma voters approved most of the 11 state questions that appeared on the ballot in the November 2nd general election.
The two amendments, which addressed education spending and were the focus of statewide debates, were repelled.
State Question 744, that would require Oklahoma to meet per pupil spending of surrounding states, was rejected overwhelmingly with more than 80 percent of the vote.
The $830 million education funding amendment would have increased spending by $1,300 per student, for all students from prekindergarten through 12th grade. According to the National Center for Education Statistics, Oklahoma currently spends $8,006 annually for each student... FULL ARTICLE
