Contractors are nearing the point of completing the Wekiwa Road reconstruction project in Sand Springs – but the roadway’s complete reopening to westbound through traffic will be delayed about a week.
The $3.2 million Oklahoma Department of Transportation construction project to widen Wekiwa Road between Highway 97 and River City Park Road began last January and was scheduled for completion by Oct. 31. ODOT officials managing the project informed the City this week that the contractor, APAC Oklahoma, anticipates the entire roadway will be open to two-way traffic on Nov. 9, weather permitting...
