Muldrow, Okla. -- Sequoyah County sheriff's deputies said Interstate 40 had to be temporarily shut down because there was a hole in the bridge.

About 15 cars were damaged because of the hole in the westbound lane near Roland.

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation said the westbound lane of the bridge was still closed Sunday night.

Crews said that traffic is being detoured.

Crews said that construction on the bridge caused the hole.

No injures have been reported.
