All lanes of westbound Interstate 44 are now open at the 161st St. East Avenue junction, the Oklahoma Department of Transportation reported Saturday.
An 8-foot hole that opened up in a bridge slowed traffic to a crawl on Interstate 44 over 163rd East Avenue as authorities closed a westbound lane early Friday.
About 10 vehicles were damaged, but no injuries were reported.
Most of the cars had flat tires or bent wheel rims, said Neill Pulliam, an operations manager for Tetra Tech, an Oklahoma Department of Transportation contractor.
The bridge was already scheduled for replacement, and traffic previously had been routed onto the shoulder area...
