Starting as early as Thursday, crews from the Oklahoma Department of Transportation will start a construction project on Wekiwa Road, shutting down the westbound lanes from Highway 97 to Rib Crib for about two weeks.
The eastbound lanes should remain open during that time.
ODOT workers will be raising the median, similar to the medians on 71st Street between Yale and Harvard, said Derek Campbell, city public works director and engineer.
Campbell said the state decided to add the higher median because large semi trucks were turning west onto Wekiwa from the eastbound Highway 64 exit... FULL ARTICLE
