OKLAHOMA CITY -- Monday morning, salt and sand operations continued throughout Oklahoma, the Oklahoma Department of Transportation said in an early-morning news release.

In western Oklahoma, a new round of drizzle caused slick and hazardous roadways, and crews in southern and eastern Oklahoma reported black ice conditions, particularly on bridges and overpasses.

According to FirstAlert storm spotter Chris Caldwell, on Sunday, there were several reports of cars sliding off Interstate 35 near Tonkawa.

According to KOCO chief meteorologist Rick Mitchell, the wintry weather is expected to last through Monday and is the result of a pair of storm systems. The first brought heavy snow to southeastern Oklahoma on Sunday. This storm is expected to produce snow and ice through the Deep South on Sunday and Monday, causing significant travel disruptions...
