Work begins on bridges along Broken Arrow Expy; $2.7 million project to take eight months

Tulsans can expect traffic delays beginning Monday along the Broken Arrow Expressway as ODOT begins work on three bridge decks.

The $2.7 million project includes replacing the east- and west-bound bridge decks over Pittsburg Avenue between Harvard and Yale avenues and the bridge deck on the eastbound lane that passes over railroad tracks about a half mile east of Yale Avenue.

The work is expected to take about eight months.

"So it's going to be about a mile-long construction zone," said Kenna Mitchell, spokeswoman for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation.

The expressway is three lanes in each direction, but Mitchell said there will be times during reconstruction of the bridge decks that the roadway will be narrowed to one lane in each direction... FULL ARTICLE
