EDMOND — The Oklahoma Department of Transportation expects the reconstruction of the Interstate 235/Interstate 44 interchange to begin in late spring or early summer, said Cole Hackett, ODOT spokesman.
Oklahoma City-based Haskell Lemon Construction was awarded a $23 million contract this week for the interchange, he said.
“They have their people mobilized for it,” Hackett said. “It’s estimated the project will take just over a year to complete.”
A longer ramp will replace the current I-235 ramp to westbound I-44, leaving more room for people merging off I-44 and merging off I-235 to access the ramp. Traffic will be better able to accelerate from the ramp to traffic on I-44, Hackett said... FULL ARTICLE
