As part of the Oklahoma Department of Transportation's (ODOT) eight-year, $8.8 billion work plan, officials recently announced that improvements to the I-44 and U.S. 75 interchange will begin in 2024.

With 1,500 projects to improve highways across the entire state, the infrastructure package will cover over 3,000 miles of highway. ODOT will also improve outdated bridges including the I-44 and U.S. 75 interchange in Tulsa.

Over $670 million of those dollars will be spent on projects in Tulsa County.

“U.S. 75 at Highway 44. Everybody sees the pillars that are just kind of sitting out there," said ODOT spokesperson, TJ Gerlach to Channel 8 News.
