OKLAHOMA CITY - A popular Oklahoma City restaurant is preparing to temporarily close its doors as construction continues along Northwest 23rd Street.

Big Truck Tacos announced it will close from June 29 through July 5 while crews work on the city’s ongoing streetscape project in the Uptown District.

The restaurant plans to reopen on July 6.

Why Big Truck Tacos Is Closing

Restaurant owner Kathryn Mathis said the closure was a decision made by the business after discussions with the construction company.

Rather than dealing with intermittent closures over several weeks, Mathis said the restaurant chose to close for one week and complete the work all at once.
