Busy Durant intersection to get traffic signal, new turn lanes under ODOT plan

DURANT, Okla. (KXII) - The Oklahoma Department of Transportation has plans to improve the intersection of First Avenue and Gerlach Drive, adding turn lanes, widening and a traffic signal to address congestion near area schools.

ODOT spokesperson T.J. Gerlach said the agency will widen the roadway to accommodate the new turn lanes.

“We’re going to add some left turn bays to help traffic flow through there a lot more easily,” Gerlach said. “There’s some little bit of widening associated with adding those turn bays.” View the full article: KXII.com
