GUTHRIE, Okla. (KOKH) — Linda Harris at Willoby's just opened the inside of her store back up for the first time since the pandemic. But there's something else that can make it hard for customers to get to her - a portion of Harrison St. that is closed.
“During high school football games and baseball games we have a lot of out of town traffic in and it’s kind of an inconvenience down there,” Harris said.
The road has had a detour since an "underground bridge" built under Jelsma Stadium was deemed structurally deficient in 2017. The city said it wanted to use grant money and not public funding to repair it. Now, it has a grant and is waiting on the Oklahoma Department of Transportation to approve transferring the money from another road project to this one.
“Anything that can help with the traffic flow and enhance the access I would say to the other activities would be my concern,” Harris said...
