COMMISSIONERS’ CIRB PLAN ‘ON TRACK’

March 17, 2021 Sequoyah County Dist. 3 Commissioner Jim Rogers will have a “kick-off” meeting Friday with the resident engineer and contractor to “finally” begin the overlay project on Redwood, one of several CIRB financed projects submitted to the state. The CIRB or County Improvements for Roads and Bridges construction five-year work plan was one of the items approved by the commissioners Monday. According to the Secretary of Transportation for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation 2021-2025 CIRB plan addresses the “highest priorities” of each county. Sequoyah County (Dist. 2) is included among 231 districts across the state as part of the Eastern Oklahoma Circuit Engineering Districts. Rogers said the plans are submitted but may take years before they are approved or considered such as the $3.7 million two mile overlay project on Redwood. The project will include widening the road plus the new road surface.
