In front of a 1910 Seldon Roadster Model 35 at the Oklahoma History Center, Oklahoma Secretaries of Transportation filmed a historic video on past and future transportation needs in Oklahoma. Sec. Tim Gatz interviewed the state’s first Transportation Secretary Neal McCaleb, appointed by Gov. Henry Bellmon in 1986, and Gary Ridley who began his transportation career as an equipment operator in 1965 and rose to Secretary in 2009. From 1910 when the state had 468,000 registered vehicles to today with 4.5 million vehicles, amounting to more than one vehicle per resident, continual innovation is necessary to ensure safe travel for everyone.
