ODOT moves forward on EV charging plan

OK Energy Tody July 23, 2026

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation is seeking proposals from companies who can support the continued development of electric vehicle charging infrastructure along designated alternative fuel corridors in Oklahoma.

As reported by OK Energy Today early this year, Oklahoma was one of five states that had not spent its share of federal funding under the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure program overseen by the Federal Highway Administration.

Gerlach stated at the time that about $1.6 million had been spent on planning but none toward actual construction. None had been spent on construction but 11 sites were awarded for construction.
