Commuters in Oklahoma City brace for another round of closures and detours as the Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) proceeds with construction projects designed to improve traffic flow and infrastructure stability. ODOT announced that the busy interchange where I-44 meets I-240 will experience all lanes of westbound I-44 (which runs south) closed between I-240 and 74th St., starting from 9 p.m. on Tuesday until 2 a.m. the next day.

For those attempting to navigate the area on Tuesday night, the I-44 westbound on-ramp at S.W. 59th St. will also be shut down beginning at 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. Wednesday, furthermore, the westbound I-240 off-ramp to westbound I-44 will also see closures, the off-ramp will be closed from 10 p.m. Tuesday to 1 a.m. Wednesday, and while I-44 narrows at SH-152/Airport Rd. is expected to continue through the summer, alternative routes such as I-40, I-35, and SH-37/S. 4th St. in Moore have been suggested to rejoin I-44 and sidestep the disruption.
