Oklahoma Department of Transportation crews and contractors are modifying work hours and focusing on safety to continue road projects during high temperatures.

OKLAHOMA CITY — Oklahoma Department of Transportation crews and contractors are adjusting their schedules and prioritizing safety to continue road work while managing the challenges of extreme heat.

You’ll still see those road work signs — and the crews behind them — because the work doesn’t stop. Much of the work is scheduled early in the morning, late at night, or overnight to avoid the sun and the worst of the heat.

The temperatures may climb, but the show goes on safely for Oklahoma Department of Transportation crews and contractors, with safety as the top priority.
