Work scheduled on metro interstates

Oklahoma City-area drivers can expect traffic disruptions on Interstate 40 and Interstate 44 starting Tuesday as construction work begins on three major projects. Two of the projects will be on I-40 — one in Del City and the other in Yukon. The third project will be on I-44 in southwest Oklahoma City.

Del City project In Del City, construction crews will start work Tuesday on a nearly $80 million project that will involve replacing six I-40 bridges at Crutcho Creek, SE 15th Street and Sooner Road.

Five of the bridges have been deemed structurally deficient and all have required significant maintenance in recent years, including multiple emergency repairs, state transportation officials said.
