The Oklahoma State Election Board on Wednesday ruled former state Sen. Rob Johnson and opponent Darrick Matthews cannot run for Senate in the upcoming special elections.

Both are Republicans.

The decisions leave two GOP candidates — Jake Merrick and Keri Shipley — on the Feb. 9 special primary ballot. Democrats will choose that day between Dylan Billings and Molly Ooten.
