10 Most Traveled Bridges in Oklahoma In Desperately Poor Condition

If you want to know whether Oklahoma bridges are in poor condition or not, avoid the internet like the plague. In 2022, the Federal Highway Administration, together with the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, gave Oklahoma a #5 ranking in best bridge conditions throughout the country. At nearly the same time, The Coalition Against Bigger Trucks analyzed data from the Federal Highway Administration, determining that Oklahoma is the 3rd worst in the nation. Two opposing things can’t be right at the same time. Yet, here we are. In 2021, Oklahoma made #4 for the poorest bridge conditions, thanks to data from ARTBA (The American Road and Transportation Builders Association), with 2,326 bridges on the list. The thing is, the data seems to move around quite a bit, depending on who you ask and why. Regardless, there’s little doubt that there are Oklahoma bridges in poor condition, even if the rankings are inconsistent.
