Ada junction one step closer to being less 'crazy'

KTEN By Ethyn Snider Feb 4, 2026

ADA, Okla. (KTEN) — For decades, the junction of Mississippi Avenue and Arlington Street in Ada has been known by one infamous name: "Crazy Corner."

While it sits at the geographical heart of the city, for those who have to navigate it daily, the experience is often defined by delays and a serious safety threat.

"I'm hoping they rename it to 'Christian Corner,' because you never know when you're going to meet Jesus," joked Ada resident George Chaplin.

That sentiment is a lighthearted reflection of a dangerous reality that has kept first responders busy for years. The junction — a tangle of five different roads bisected by  a railroad line — has seen a steady stream of accidents involving cars, large trucks, and passing trains.
