Bridge plan for Bixby advancing, mayor shares likely route

BIXBY, Okla. - A plan is advancing that could lead to another highway bridge into Bixby, relieving congestion on the US-64 (Memorial) bridge, which is the only North-South route into the fast-growing community.

Both Bixby Mayor Brad Girard and U.S. Senator MarkWayne Mullin said the likely route would be from 151st Street, North on what is now Kimberly-Clark Place, crossing the river to a point somewhere along 121st, west of Yale Avenue. A previous plan to connect a bridge at Yale ran into significant opposition from the City of Tulsa.
