Bridge replacement to start in Tulsa

US-75 bridge replacement project at 81st St. begins Monday

A nearly $27 million bridge replacement project on US-75 at 81st St. in Tulsa begins Monday and drivers are being alerted to the more than year-long construction that could interfere with their traffic.

Drivers should expect narrowed lanes and a reduced speed limit through the work zone. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained in each direction on US-75 during peak travel times. The project will replace both north and southbound US-75 bridges over 81st St. with modern, wider structures. 81st St. will also be widened below the highway, and the interchange will be converted into a diverging diamond interchange, where 81st St. traffic will temporarily switch to the left side of the road between highway ramps, which increases safety and reduces congestion.
