Busy Tulsa highway could become Oklahoma's newest interstate

PRYOR, Okla. -- The Oklahoma Department of Transportation hosted it’s second in-person open house to discuss the next phase of its Highway 412 study in Pryor on Wednesday evening.

This is in preparation for the state highway to be upgraded to an interstate.

ODOT is working with the Arkansas Department of Transportation on the study.

Fox23 News spent some time driving along U.S. 412 on Wednesday morning to learn more about what the changes will mean for drivers.

Eugene Evans, on his way from Tulsa to Pryor to haul rock, told FOX23 he thinks turning U.S. 412 into an interstate is good idea in terms of safety.
