By Madalynn ElKouri | Multimedia Specialist  February 17, 2026

The City of Lawton has started repairs to the barrier walls along the Cache Road bridge over Fort Sill Boulevard near Central Middle School. Work to close the roadway began this morning.

The barrier was damaged during a recent vehicle accident and requires repair to ensure it continues to safely protect motorists during impact events.

During construction, drivers should expect the inside lanes of Fort Sill Boulevard to be closed and one westbound lane on Cache Road to be closed. Full road closures will also occur throughout the week to allow equipment to safely operate while the barriers are lifted and moved.
