Commissioners say county and state at impasse concerning County Road 1570; special meeting called for today

The Pontotoc County Board of County Commissioners will hold a special meeting at 1 p.m. today concerning the “recurring issues” on County Road 1570 (Farm-to-Market Road).

District 2 County Commissioner Danny Davis said CR 1570 was redone back in 2018-19 and was a County Improvements for Roads and Bridges project by the Oklahoma Department of Transportation.

“The road has fell all to pieces out there and, within a year after they finished this $6 million project, the county was already patching on this road,” Davis said. “And this road has literally fell apart over the years and I complained and complained and complained about it, and we hadn’t got nowhere.”
