YUKON, Okla. (KFOR) — Construction has started on Garth Brooks Boulevard in Yukon and the city is anticipating it to last for 315 days. It starts on Andrew Drive and ends on Health Center Parkway, but the on and off ramps to I-40 may also be affected during the construction.

“You can tell the city is growing like crazy, which is a great thing for Yukon, but it’s made everything pretty congested at times,” said Dr. Eric Mead, Smile Today Dentures and Implants.

The city said the road will go down to one lane, so traffic could back up on either end, and that has some businesses wondering what that will look like during busy hours on the road.

“It may congest patients coming in and out of the practice, but we’re still going to be here,” said Dr. Mead.
