The City of Oklahoma City and the Oklahoma Department of Transportation will begin construction to replace the May Avenue bridge over Northwest Expressway.

The northbound May Avenue ramp will close on May 26, and the southbound May Avenue ramp will close intermittently as needed to allow crews to complete construction operations safely, according to a news release. The project is expected to last around two years.

The City of OKC said construction will occur in multiple stages throughout the project, with periodic traffic shifts to allow for bridge demolition and reconstruction, roadway improvements and final finishing work. Consequently, drivers can expect temporary lane closures, narrowed lanes and changing traffic patterns on both NW Expressway and May Avenue during construction.
