OKLAHOMA CITY — The Oklahoma Department of Transportation is planning to replace bridges on Interstate 40, including a bridge over MacArthur Road and Meridian Avenue in Oklahoma City.
"Currently, the project is scheduled for 2033 in our program,” said Matthew Mitchell, District 4 engineer at ODOT.
The interchange at I-44 and I-40, located nearby, sees 140,000 vehicles per day, making it one of the most highly traveled areas.
The region is home to numerous commercial spaces, hotels and residents, and ODOT acknowledges the need to plan for future growth to keep the road up to date.
